I am a children’s physiotherapist with extensive experience of children with developmental delay. I am specialised in the management of motor impairment including conditions related to genetic anomalies, dyspraxia and cerebral palsy.
I am committed to providing a personalised, high quality service for children and their families which promotes the holistic well being of all children with disabilities and supports them in their development so that they can become as fully autonomous and independent as possible.
My approach is child centred and involves goal setting in partnership with parents and children. Management is based on best evidence applied wisely to the individual needs of children and their families.
When appropriate, I use play and music to motivate children to reach their full potential.
The outcome measures I use are: Goniometry; The Gross Motor Function Outcome Measure; Teler; and the Salford Observational Gait tool, the prototype of which I developed during my PhD.
My service is mainly peripatetic but I can also offer sessions in my home.
I am also registered with the Medico Legal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists where physiotherapists provide assessment and reporting services in relation to legal casework on behalf of children and their families.
